PostHog product tours alternative

PostHog announced on 27 August 2026 that its product tours would stop working, with every version of PostHog, on 26 September 2026. PostHog said tours were popular, but not a good fit for its mission. If your onboarding runs on them, it goes when they do.
PostHog's own replacement
PostHog made a free agent skill to help you rebuild what its tours did, in your own code. It's in PostHog's changelog, and you run it from the command line:
npx @posthog/wizard@latest skill creating-product-tours
If you need tours back soon, that's free and available now. The trade-off is that the tours become code your team writes and maintains.
What Meles is building, and what it isn't
Meles is in development: in-app surveys, popups, modals, banners and announcements, in one small script, with no per-message and no per-seat fees. Those come first.
Tours aren't in our first release. They're on our roadmap after it, and we won't put a date on them until we can keep it. If you need tours soon, Meles isn't your answer yet.
